Great American Road Trip: The First Night

I am proud to say that for the first time ever I slept in my car last night. Thanks to Jason's brilliant advice, I parked in the parking lot of a Best Western (in Indio, CA) and slept like a baby! There was plenty of grass around for Stella, a nice patio on which I did my quiet time, and lots of lights and surveilance cameras to make me feel safe.

Once I fell asleep (a feat even in the nicest of beds) I slept like a rock until about 8:30 when the sun started baking me in the back seat. I could have layed there longer, but it was just too warm.

I went to the McDonald's down the street and around the corner to change, wash my face and get my morning cup of joe. Ah, the life of a vagrant. It is glorious.

I had some quiet time on the grass in front of the local High School and was on my merry way to Salvation Mountain.
