Santa Fe didn't feel right.
I went on up to Santa Fe from Albuquerque yesterday because there were a couple museums and a chapel I wanted to see nearby. It was out of the way, but who cares? This is a road trip.
I got in to Santa Fe around 6 last night and cruised around looking for a parking lot to camp out in. I was pretty tired as I got up early yesterday and hadn't much sleep the night before.
I searched and searched and nothing seemed quite right. I finally found a Quality Inn next door to a Motel 6 and that lot seemed ok... but not really right. I parked and sat, trying to decide what to do when I remembered... 6 weeks.
To let go of God, if only for a moment. For a thought. And suddenly the refining fire burns me up. The sorrows drown and the hurt is too much to bear. I opened the Word and found no solace- I could hardly read in the waning sunlight through my tears. Finally I sought out Streams in the Desert again and the Lord said, "Wait."
And so I shall wait.
But I kept driving. I am in Tucumcari, NM and will be in Texas before too long...
